Naxi and Moso Ethnography. Kin, Rites, Pictographs.
The main purpose of this book is to offer some incentives for a
comparative anthropology of the wider Himalayan region by supplying new ethnographic facts
from one of its corners closed to outsiders for half a century. With the exception of two
articles that appeared previously in Chinese in modified form and length and a series of
historical photographs bridging past and present visual documentation, the contributions
at hand were all composed on request to fit the object in view.
Zurich 1998, 396 pages, 292 photographs, 124 pictographic drawings plus 15
maps and charts (ISBN 3-909105-35-1) Fr. 72.-
