"Museum as Usual" despite Depot Renovation

The storage of objects is being optimized, but the museum is open!

We store important collections of artefacts from all over the world in our museum depot. The indoor climate, the storage conditions of the objects and the transport routes no longer meet today's requirements and need to be optimised. That is why our depot is being renovated; construction is about to begin!

In order to clear out the depot, we have carefully packed thousands of objects into boxes over the past few months and transported them to our outdoor storage facility to store them there during the construction phase.

As we have less space available during the renovation, some workplaces are temporarily located in an exhibition room.

However, our exhibitions “Dreaming of Ginseng” and “Benin Dues” are accessible without restrictions on the ground floor and 2nd floor, and our events will also take place as usual.

We look forward to welcoming you also during the construction phase!

You will find information on the details of the depot renovation on the Stadtuniversität UZH website (in German).
