Water – Film and Discussion Circle
Events in June 2026
Dear friends, colleagues and interested parties,
Next, "Rumble in the Archive" turns its attention to indigenous Brazil. Artist and resident Eva De Souza is curating these events and bringing along inspiring guests.
On 12 June, Eva will be screening "Katô: Dreams of Dark Earth". This documentary follows indigenous representatives of the Munduruku in their struggle for land and clean water, revealing a world in which daily survival is an act of decolonial resistance.
One of the film's protagonists,Vandria Borari, an indigenous artist and activist, will be present for the discussion after the screening.
The following day, 13 June, Eva will be facilitating a discussion circle with the title "Ans Licht geholt (Brought to Light) – Trazido a Luz". Here, too, the focus is on water: forms of its ritualisation and various aspects of the significance of rivers.
Joining Eva's discussion, there will be: Vandria Borari, indigenous artist and activist; Carolina Brunelli, artist and researcher; Evelyn Zea Schuler, ethnologist, Indigenous studies scholar and cultural practitioner; and Andrea Zellhuber, who focuses on international cooperation and human rights projects. The discussion will be held in Portuguese, with on-the-spot translation into English and German as required.
And as always: a dialogic guided tour will take place on the last Thursday of the month at 6 pm; next time on 25 June.

It will take still a little while yet, but on 26 September we will be celebrating "The Fall Rumble" – and we would love to see many of you there! This event will mark the conclusion of "Rumble in the Archive" in the museum's exhibition space.
