Francisco González

Francisco González is the founder and president of Fundación Pueblo Kawésqar and director of the international initiative Ko Aswál (2025–2030). In this capacity, he leads processes of cooperation between Kawésqar communities and cultural and academic institutions in Chile and Europe, with a particular focus on Switzerland. His work promotes institutional dialogue around the restitution of ancestors, collection research, and the development of collaborative frameworks grounded in mutual respect, ethics, and Indigenous rights. He has advanced initiatives that integrate cultural diplomacy, intercultural education, and historical memory, facilitating spaces for dialogue aimed at strengthening long-term partnerships and jointly addressing the legacies of the colonial past.
